Hi curious soul,
Let’s be real. That’s a pretty outrageous subject line isn’t it?
It just popped into my head when reflecting about this transition into Gemini season and the upcoming Sagittarius Full Moon tomorrow on May 23. It made me chuckle, how often we see lines like this online. Big promises. It feels just chaotic enough to cheekily weave it into today’s exploration of Living Curiously.
Listen to the audio version above or read it below — to honour my writer and storyteller.
The magic pill! The perfect solution! The only thing you’ll need!
When we face a problem, literally all we want is an easy fix. In fact, I just took a painkiller to help relieve some wicked cramps, praying this one little blue thing will save me. And it might—for a while.
With Gemini season entering the chat, our minds are abuzz and things are going to move a little (or a lot) quicker than Taurus season. Taurus gave us such a delicious opportunity to feel the embodied depths of ourselves. To slow and to savour. To rest with our own gnarled roots.
But our plants gotta grow up and out. We can’t stay underground forever.
If there’s one symbol that perfectly describes Gemini energy, it’s the pollinators. Especially bumble bees. They’re just buzzing around from flower to flower, spreading pollen then converting it to the incredible golden elixir we know and love. They live and work as one hive. They do little harm unless surprisingly prompted.
They communicate, they share, they collaborate, they spread, they learn.
This is the Gemini way. It’s a curious one.
And so am I, being a Gemini rising (this is why my Substack is called Living Curiously!).
When it comes to solving problems, it’s all in the details. The problem urges you to look close, magnifying glass in hand, buzzing nearby. To observe it and learn from it, in order to change it. Yet, it’s hard to see the problem clearly when you’re so clearly swirling in its tornado.
It sounds like you need a second pair of eyes.
And this is where the Sagittarius Full Moon waltzes in.
Sagittarius is the opposing sister sign of Gemini — whereas Gemini is all mind, all details, all booksmart, Sagittarius is all experience, all adventure, all story. It doesn’t care for the fine print, it just wants to live the full saga.
When they work together, Gemini is the writer and Sagittarius is the storyteller.
Gemini takes up the magnifying glass and Sagittarius takes up the spyglass.
This is your second pair of eyes: the bird’s eye view.
When that problem-tornado hits, you gotta call in your inner Sagittarian to fly you up high and remind you of the bigger story at play. You might feel stuck, caged, limited, but when seeing it from way up there? Oh! Look there’s a path just a few paces to the left! It leads to a river that runs all the way home! I’m free!
And immediately your experience changes. Because you saw it differently!
The perspective (viewpoint) changes the perception (experience).
It’s about telling a different story.
Problems are the stories in which we find ourselves, and if left unchecked long enough, get stuck in.
But solutions are stories too — in fact the best solutions transform the problem from the inside out. Whereas a pill or a miracle cure aims to fix from the outside in, true transformation is experienced within and then shared without.
I’ve been in the process of transforming my story for a while now. I was stuck in the problem-story tornado of: “not being good enough” and “being confused about my path” and “there’s no place for me”. I’ve been swirling around all up in that, even though a big part of me knows that’s all gobbshite. It’s taken me a LONG ASS TIME and lots of healing, but I’m slowly living and breathing a new story.
And what I’m finding to be the most transformative thing is realizing this one incredible idea:
You are not a helpless character, you are a powerful storyteller.
You have the power to tell new stories, from the ashes of old ones.
This is the solution to all your problems.
Ok enough hyperboles for one day!!!
Half-kidding aside, the Sagittarean Full Moon is about to illuminate exactly what story needs to be told through you, and the Gemini Sun is about to fuel exactly how it wants to be told.
If you work with both your inner writer and inner storyteller, you reclaim your place and your power over any problem you face. Everything changes when you decide to change it.
And then you open yourself to new chapters you could never even imagine for yourself, because the best stories unfold along the way.
So reflect on this for a moment — what story did this inspire you to change?
Wishing you all a buzzing Gemini season and a potent Sagittarean Full Moon!
See you next week.
Love,
Bry
P.S. SPEAKING OF STORIES! I had the incredible opportunity to get interviewed for the VERY FIRST TIME! Stephanie Khio is an incredible human that runs the blog soulfood, and just release our interview titled Plants, Planets and Body with Bry. This experience helped me live a new story: finally embracing mine. Thank you, Stephanie! I’m so excited for you to read it and to weave deeper into my curious story, my work, and my ways of seeing this curious world. Read it here!
“You have the power to tell new stories, from the ashes of old ones.” This is so beautifully written and came to me at the perfect time. Thank you so much for this ✨
